Profile

Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital is a world reference in pediatric care.

Founded in Rome in 1869 as Italy's first true pediatric hospital, in 1924 it was donated to the Holy See, becoming to all intents and purposes the Hospital of the Pope. In 1985 it received recognition as an Institute for Hospitalization and Treatment of a Scientific Character (IRCCS), combining medical care with intense research activity. In 2006 it obtained its first accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the institute that worldwide certifies excellence in the reception and quality of care offered

The Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital presents itself today as the largest pediatric polyclinic and research center in Europe, about 3300 professionals, connected to the major international centers in the field, a point of reference for the health of children and young people from all over Italy and abroad. The Hospital is home for Italy to Orphanet, the world's largest database for rare diseases to which 39 states belong.

Protocol title

Validation of the Biometrical Holistic Of Human Body (BHOHB) in the diagnosis of scoliosis in pediatrics.

Goals

  1. Project to validate BHOHB Postural to GOLD STANDARD technology by comparison with X-RAY.
The objective of the study is to validate the new BHOHB technology for the diagnosis of scoliosis in pediatrics by performing the comparison of specific parameters measured by gold standard and, in particular: Cobb angles calculated through RX and Gibbo in mm measured through gibbometer.

From 2020, the project is to install one BHOHB technology per location (total of 4), serving the different scientific departments.

Progress status

Completed

Results

BHOHB - RX: The acquired data show a trend of perfect overlap between the gold standard RX and BHOHB in the calculation of Cobb's Angles, regardless of the screening operator.

BHOHB - Gibbometer: The acquired data show a trend of perfect overlap between the gibbometer and BHOHB in gibbometer calculation.
